We have some very exciting motoring news from our WAV partner, Sirus Automotive. Supported by Dacia, they have released the UK’s only new Wheelchair Accessible Car. The Sirus Dacia Rear Passenger. We wanted to share our thoughts on this exciting new vehicle.
With vehicles available on the Motability scheme, Sirus is a UK-based provider of WAVs. Sirus aims to provide freedom, independence, and social inclusion to its customers. There are many features on the Sirus Dacia Rear Passenger to get excited about including its compact size, whilst providing all the comforts of a family car. Not to mention that it gives more choice for those who may not want to own a converted commercial vehicle.

How comfortable is the Sirus Dacia Rear Passenger?
As standard, the car has space for up to 6 people. A standard 2 in the front and 3 in the mid-row layout, with the rear designed for a wheelchair user. The 3 middle seats can fold individually to allow more space for larger wheelchairs.

How does the rear wheelchair access work?
Sirus has provided a counterbalanced manual ramp, this allows access from the rear. A lowered floor gives a clearance height of 1.3m. Plus, an anti-slip surface has been added to give better traction in wetter conditions. Finally, a four-point self-tightening manual wheelchair restraint system is added as standard.
What are the Dacia Jogger’s main features?
We’ve already mentioned the awards, and clearly, this is subjective. However, this vehicle certainly provides an interesting option in the market. Apple CarPlay™ and AndroidAuto™ complement an 8-inch touchscreen media system. 3D sound from 6-speakers should keep your family entertained on journeys. - Driving
A Turbocharged, 1L 3-cylinder petrol engine delivers 110bhp. Pre-conversion, Dacia states the car will achieve up to 48.7MPG.
