Still got questions?
We’ve answered some of the queries you might have about our Powered Wheelchair Insurance
-
QDo you provide me with a temporary wheelchair whilst mine is being repaired?
AIf your wheelchair is out of use for more than 7 days, we will cover the cost of hiring a replacement while it is being repaired.
-
QIf someone else uses my wheelchair are they covered?
AYes. The insurance policy covers the wheelchair and anyone who uses it with your permission.
-
QWho do I call if I need to make a claim?
AIf you need to make a claim on your powered wheelchair insurance, please call 0800 012 6327 as soon as possible.
-
QWhat happens if I break down? How will I get home?
AOur powered wheelchair policy will pay towards the cost of you and your wheelchair getting home following an accident or breakdown. Our Extra policy includes Fish Mobility Rescue, providing recovery to your home, holiday home, or a local repairer.
-
QDo I have to insure my powered wheelchair?
AIt’s not a legal requirement to insure your wheelchair, but as they are expensive and often essential in helping you to stay independent, it’s a wise choice to make sure it is protected.
-
QDo you give me the money to replace my wheelchair if it is stolen or cannot be repaired?
AYes, you are covered for up to £1,500 on our Lite policy, £7,000 on our Standard policy and up to £10,000 on our Extra policy.

QDoes my power chair need to be stored at my address overnight?
AIn order to be covered by your insurance, you must not leave your powered wheelchair out in the open overnight. It is sensible to keep your powered wheelchair in a locked and secured building at night to reduce the risk of any damage or theft occurring.
-
QDoes this policy cover accidental damage to my wheelchair?
AYes. Fish’s electric wheelchair insurance covers accidental damage (including fire and flood), theft, and vandalism.
